Seasons Change
Louise Harris
“Though the seasons change, your love remains.”
At this time of year I am careful observing the change of the season. I track a little bit of extra light each day before the sun goes down and the developing buds on my Magnolia tree, my favourite thing in my garden. I’m impatiently saying “Come on Spring!” I cannot wait for winter to be over, and the burst of new life that spring heralds with the promise of summer days beyond it.
I am so aware that life is very much like this, the seasons change and it sometimes seems that nothing stays the same for very long. We have experienced a lot of changing seasons in my family.
The ending of relationships with all the sadness that brings, but then the excitement and promise of new ones. The closing of one door and the opening of another.
There have been changes at work, some good and some not so good. Changes in circumstances, times of plenty and times of uncertainty.
Changes in where we live ( for prayer on new homes please send your requests to my house group, we have much experience of answered prayer in this area ! )
Changes in our bodies, the aging process and watching the decline of our loved ones but then the joy of new babies arriving.
In all the ebb and flow of life I hold tight to this deep truth as I think of our amazing God - though the seasons change, your love remains.
He has seen us through thick and thin and will never ever leave us. He cannot, it’s just not in his nature. I have known this to be true time and time again. When life as I knew it ended and a new world began, he took me on, protected and brought me so many unexpected blessings along the way.
I particularly love the song Seasons Change by United Pursuit, I recommend a listen.
Let’s face forward to the new season of our lives, whatever that looks like, knowing that God is by our side, never changing, constant in love and life. He’s got us.
Come on spring !
Behold I will do a new thing, now it springs forth, do you not perceive it?
I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.
